How to perform an in-country review task (team projects)

How to work on an in-country review task that is assigned to you by a co-worker

An in-country reviewer is a person who is a native speaker of the target language and an expert in a domain of a project.

The role of an in-country reviewer is to provide feedback to translators and proofreaders about terminology they use and linguistic style of translation, so the final translation meets all the requirements for the translated content.

An in-country reviewer can be assigned as a team member when setting up a project or added to the project which is already in progress.

If you are assigned as an in-country reviewer, go to MY TASKS.

Find your project on the list and click Open.

Start with clicking Review for a Glossary (to review project's terminology).
You can also Review or Edit translation packages.

Important: Once a project is completed, the project glossary is merged with the main terminology repository and used in future projects. Also, a QA Report is using the glossary to verify if correct terminology is being used by translators working on the project.

ICR EDITOR

In the ICR editor you have five options available:

  1. To accept translation

  2. To reject translation

  3. To leave a comment or an answer to translators
Comments will be visible to all project members (translator, proofreader and project manager) and they will receive an e-mail notification when you leave a comment.

Important: Please leave a comment each time you reject a segment, so translators understand your reasons better.

A translator will be able to filter out accepted or rejected segments in the translation editor using the filter option in the left corner.

4. To add a reference image to a segment (a translator/proofreader will be able to preview the image when translating)

5. To edit segments - click on the edit icon and start editing translation. Please notice, that this feature is meant only for ad-hoc editing of individual segments. If you would like to edit larger parts of the translated material, a project manager should allocate you as a proofreader, not as an in-country reviewer. In this case, please contact a project manager or a project owner to change your function.

Important: Editing segments which contain tags is not possible in review mode.
Click Edit button in task overview to access the full Translation Editor for such segments.
